01 / THE POSSIBILITIES START HERELOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA

Hello,Alpha.

An entire city of possibility.

Brett FinkEcosystem Director,

I’d bring my experience in founder education, coaching, and building relationships across LA and Orange County to help Alpha reach families and create opportunities for students.

02 / FOUNDER & CEO EDUCATION

Growth needs
the right people.

An accelerator is a practical education in building a company.

On stage · 500 Startups

I helped manage accelerator operations and partnerships at 500 Startups, now 500 Global, working with batches 18–22 in Mountain View and San Francisco. As a Director at Moderne Ventures, I worked across platform, partnerships, and accelerator programming.

I connected founders with mentors, investors, and corporate partners. I’d bring that same ability to Alpha’s families and students.

03 / COACHING & FAMILY TRUST

Show up.
Build trust.
Help them grow.

I’m the head varsity boys’ lacrosse coach at Millikan High School in Long Beach. Before that, I spent three years coaching at Cal State Long Beach, including as defensive coordinator. The team won its first SLC championship in 2026.

Through coaching, clinics, and community programs, I’ve learned that trust comes from showing up, listening, and helping young people grow in confidence.

04 / LEARNING THROUGH EXPERIENCE
WHY ALPHA

Alpha makes room for life skills and hands-on workshops alongside focused academics. That connection between learning and doing is what draws me in.

Alpha’s approach

The world is
part of the classroom.

Huntington 100 honoree

Northeastern taught me to connect learning with doing.

I earned my BS in Psychology and was selected for the Huntington 100, recognizing student achievement, leadership, and community impact.

Northeastern’s co-op model made learning practical. I worked in education, alumni engagement, a Senate campaign, and a Celtics-affiliated nonprofit. That experience shaped how I approach founder education, coaching, and connecting young people with mentors and real opportunities.

05 / LA & ORANGE COUNTY RELATIONSHIPS

I’d start with
people I already know.

I live in Long Beach.
My relationships reach across LA and Orange County.

I was an early employee at Snapchat through its LA hypergrowth and IPO. I’ve also been Managing Partner of GRTR, the first employee and SVP at Old Pal, and worked in partnerships and growth at Spaceport.

GRTR’s partnership with WME and work with Houseplant connected me with senior entertainment executives and talent. Alongside founders, investors, and local politicians, these are people I’d turn to for introductions, expertise, and opportunities.

A FEW CORNERS OF MY NETWORK

Places I’ve worked, collaborated, or know people.

Sports

I’d start with contacts at the Kings, Chargers, Dodgers, and Clippers to explore family events, community introductions, and experiences for students.

Business & finance

People I know at J.P. Morgan, Wells Fargo, and local businesses could open doors to relevant gatherings, families, and financial education.

Founders & investors

I’d reconnect with the founders and operators I’ve worked with to meet parents and show students how ideas become companies.

Entertainment & civic life

My creative and civic relationships are a starting point for mentors and trusted hosts in the communities families already care about.

Not every contact has high-school-age kids. They can still introduce a family, host a conversation, or mentor a student. I’d prioritize families curious about Alpha, able to consider tuition, and within a workable commute.

Give people a reason to stay connected.

  1. 01 / CONNECT

Start with a trusted introduction and listen to the family.

  2. 02 / SHOW

Make Alpha tangible through student work, workshops, and parent conversations.

  3. 03 / FOLLOW UP

Share relevant stories and invitations with permission.

  4. 04 / INTRODUCE

Connect interested families with Admissions, preserving the referral source.

VentureBusinessEntertainmentEducationCivic lifeCoaching

These are personal relationships; organizational collaborations would need agreement. I’d own introductions and follow-through, working with Marketing on communications, Admissions on enrollment, and the campus team on student experiences.

06 / VENTURE, RELATIONSHIPS & CAPITAL

I built my network
by doing the work.

$1B+

Combined reported firm AUM

I worked at 500 Startups, now 500 Global, and Moderne Ventures. Together, their published assets under management exceed $1 billion.

$15M+

Venture capital I raised

I’ve raised more than $15 million in venture capital for businesses, working directly with investors and senior executives.

I know how to earn attention, make a clear case, and carry a relationship through to a commitment.

Published firm AUM: 500 Global: $2.3B as of April 2025; Moderne Ventures: more than $600M.

07 / A PROPOSED FIRST 90 DAYS

Earn the introduction.
Build the relationship.

I’d shape the plan with Alpha’s team and current families, then learn by doing.

01–30 Start with my network

I’d listen to families and the school team, then prioritize my LA and Orange County contacts, relevant hosts, and events.

I’d recruit parent ambassadors and agree on approved stories, student experiences, and a referral process with Marketing and Admissions.

Outcome · A focused relationship map and a shared plan for introductions.

31–60 Make Alpha tangible

I’d test a few experiences with willing hosts: a conversation at a sports or business event, a student showcase, a family workshop, or a small dinner.

I’d follow up personally and recruit experts for masterclasses and potential internships, with the school team assessing fit.

Outcome · Interested families, Admissions introductions, and a pipeline of student opportunities.

61–90 Build on what works

I’d review which relationships produce repeat engagement, Admissions handoffs, and enrollment, keeping original referral sources attached.

I’d repeat the strongest experiences, document what works for other cities, and plan how graduating families join the alumni community.

Outcome · A source-to-enrollment review and clear priorities for the next quarter.

I’d measure movement, not just attendance.

Introductions. Repeat engagement. Referral-driven enrollment. Opportunities delivered for students and families. I’d agree on baselines and targets with the team.

08 / LET’S TALK
Alpha

Let’s build
something that matters.

Trusted relationships.
Stronger family connections.
More possibilities for students.

I’d love to discuss what that could look like for Alpha in Los Angeles.
